Real Salt Lake has always been a middle of the pack, decently well rounded team, but head coach Mike Petke is looking to change all that. With new signings like Sam Johnson and Everton Luis from argentina, there mindset has started to change from a winning year, to a title winning year.

With veteran goalkeeper Nick Rimando, and Kyle Beckerman announcing that this will be the last year of their professional career, the claret and cobalt look to take on this year with a chip on their shoulder.

Rsl drew their first game of the season, managing to scrape 1 point from the Houston Dynamo, then on Saturday March 9, the clarets earned all 3 points on a controversial penalty kick against the Vancouver Whitecaps at the first home game of the season.

With Real Salt Lakes strike force containing players like Albert Rusnak, Corey Baird, Jefferson Savarino, Damir Kreilach, and Sam Johnson this team is poised to make a serious push to the MLS Playoffs, and be a serious contender for the League title.
