As a dual sport athlete, Nate Burri is starting the soccer season as a varsity captain, with senior Kaleb Larsen, for Hillcrest High School. “I’ve been playing for 12 years and I started when I was 5 years old,” said Burri.

Burri played with Blue Knights, Gladiators, and Utah Glory before he played with Hillcrest. His position is center back which means he tries to prevent players from scoring.

Currently, Burri is focusing on his Hillcrest team, stating “We are third in region right now but if we keep playing well, we can take first and be region champs,” said Burri.

On top of soccer, Burri has been playing basketball for Hillcrest for three years now. He said, “I was on the JV team but I had the chance to sit varsity and actually play a couple games.” He plays power forward and shooting guard.

Burri is a junior at Hillcrest High School. His favorite subjects are math with Ms. Sorensen and English with Mr. Doherty. He has 3 older siblings. A sister, Amanda 29, and two older brothers, Josh 26 and Elliot 22. They all graduated from Hillcrest and they were all in the theater department. Unlike his siblings, he grew up playing sports so he isn’t involved in theater.

There are six seniors on the team and to celebrate them and their accomplishments, senior night was on Tuesday April 30, 2019 and they beat Hunter 2-1. Burri said, “A very competitive game, we had some great chances and so did they but we came out on top. Congrats to the seniors for getting a win on their senior night.”
