Jamell Maurice Demons, better know as YNW Melly, is facing 2 counts of first degree murder of his best friends Anthony Williams, and Christopher Thomas Jr. On October 19, 2015, Jamell discharged a gun at a local Florida High School.

At the time of the shooting, it did not seem that the shots were intended for any specific persons. But, according to Complex, upon further inspection they were aimed towards two 17- year old’s, and a twenty year-old.

Jamell ended up serving a one year sentence in a Florida jail. He said to his verified annotation on Genius, “I literally woke up one day and was like, I got murder on my mind, AK-47, MAC-11, Glocks and nine’s.¨

No one in prison knew he could rap, until he shared his verses with some of his inmates, and they started to really enjoy his lyrics.

He then released the full song on March 4, 2017 on Soundcloud. Within 5 days, the song was starting to blow up, so he decided to release the lyrics to the song on Youtube. The Music video was later released on August 3, 2018.

The video currently has nearly 200 Million views, and is gaining thousands by the day, especially since all this murder talk is drawing more attention to YNW Melly.

On January 3, 2019, YNW Melly was arrested for possession of marijuana. According to Complex magazine, this is when authorities started to pay attention to jamall, and noticed his record. Later on February 13, YNW Melly was arrested in Florida for two counts of first degree murder.

The two people he was accused of killing were both close friends. YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy. He posted a picture of both of them on his Instagram, and captioned. “I am turning myself in, I love you all.¨

On April 16th, YNW Melly is reportedly facing the death penalty. The state of Florida can confirm that Melly was in a criminal gang, and did it for ¨pecuniary gain, in a cruel mannor.¨

YNW Melly is one of the most well known 18 year old rappers in the rap game, but for all the wrong reasons. His rise to stardom looked so promising, but is all seeming to crumble around him.
