The most useless app in the world

There is no shortage of useless apps, but this one might just take the cake. It’s called Rubby Bird and it does exactly what it sounds like it does.

You literally just rub the bird.

Most games for phones are useless and time wasting but there is usually some sort of goal. Get to 2048, build your wealth and become the richest in the world, etc. But you just rub the bird as long as possible.

I honestly don’t understand who this appeals to. Someone told me they once got to ten minutes, and they were very proud. Not to knock their achievement, but why? That is ten minutes of your life you will never get back. You just spent ten minutes rubbing a virtual bird.

Apparently the game was such a success that they made a sequel called Rubby bird 100. Instead of one bird you rub as long as possible, there are 100 birds that rely on your rubs to stay alive. Again, why?

The object of this game is not to rub a bird, it is to waste time and get the makers money. Our world has come to the point where rubbing a fake bird is preferable to entertaining ourselves or being alone with our thoughts.
