There have been eight outstanding books, seven thrilling films, and one incredible stage play in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone” was released in the United States on November 14, 2001. The last film was released on July 15, 2011, and now there are whispers of a new addition to the series, a new tale based on the hit play: “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”.

According to the New York Daily News, Warner Bros. wanted to get a film adaptation on the big screen as soon as this very year, 2020! And best of all, they want the original actors to return and play as their characters all grown up.

However, with any great film, there are setbacks. Warner Bros. is already looking forward to the creation of the five “Fantastic Beasts” prequels.

“I think it was a wonderful eight chapters, I think that and everything that needed to be done was done,” Actor Tom Felton expressed.

The expectations for a “Cursed Child” film have been set high after the success of the original eight films. However, fans shouldn’t count their Horcruxes before they’re made, and they shouldn’t expect a film for the next few years.

Unlike the original films, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” is about the children of the original characters viewers and readers grew to love. The protagonists, Albus Severus Potter and Scorpio Malfoy start their first year at Hogwarts just as Harry, Ron, and Hermione did, making mischief.

Along the way, Albus and Scorpio become friends with a new character, but this character turns out to be the relative of one antagonist viewers know all too well.
