Doing school from a distance can be a struggle and sometimes it’s important to take a break. There is a wide range of websites on the internet, ranging from useful to downright weird and many of them are quite entertaining.

Bored button is a classic. According to their website, boredbutton.com, “I am bored… I’m bored to tears. I’m bored to death. Do you find yourself saying any of the above? If so, you’ve reached the right website. Clicking the red button will instantly take you to one of hundreds of interactive websites specially selected to alleviate boredom.” You could see how long it takes to scroll 100 meters or write in llamas but you will not be bored.

Most everything is shut down but that doesn’t mean you can’t travel! The earth is beautiful and most people only ever see a tiny part, but Google earth can help with that. For instance, I spent a lovely half hour exploring a finnish countryside from the comfort of my couch.

There is a fun little game called drench. Try and make the whole board the same color in less than 30 moves. The game is surprisingly difficult and satisfying, which makes it a good way to pass the time.
If you feel like doing something useful, there are websites for that as well. Zooniverse is a citizen science website with over 50 projects. Users can participate in archiving old english documents, spotting jungle animals, or fighting antibiotic resistance. Users can even help classify galaxies or spot dwarf planets.

Last but not least, it is always a good time to find new music. Type in an artist or band and the music map gives you similar artists that you might enjoy. It is fun to explore the map and discover new music.
