Communication in quarantine

During these trying times, people all over the world have been cut off, severed from others in their lives. However, thanks to online resources, people are still able to talk face to face, or voice to voice.

There are many ways to communicate via online sources. The expanded list contains email, Skype, Discord, Zoom, and many other things. All of these allow you to message the person you are trying to communicate with. However a few of them allow you to call or even talk to each other over a video call.

For more formal ways to communicate with coworkers or other important folk in adult life, email and Facebook are excellent ways to communicate. For many people, they use Zoom and Google Meets to talk to their coworkers about what to do and how to handle business in these strange times.

For those who feel they need to communicate with friends might find it useful to use Discord and Skype. Both of these allow you to have large group chats and phone calls with multiple people at a time, as well as sharing your screen to show your friends what you’re doing.

I myself use Discord to communicate with friends and play role-playing games with them, it’s not the same as in person, but it’s still nice to hear their voices and see their faces.

For whatever way you communicate with others, I hope that you are getting some relief from it in these lonely times.
