What is the best NBA team of all time

Since its inaugural season in 1949, the National Basketball Association has seen some incredible teams. From the record 73 win 2015-2016 Golden State Warriors, to Lebron’s 2010’s Miami Heat, to the showtime Los Angeles Lakers, the Association has seen some incredible teams. However, two teams really stand out in the debate for the best NBA team of all time: the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls, and the 2016-2017 Golden State Warriors. Through all the debates, one thing remains clear: the 2017 Warriors take the crown

The 1996 Bulls are known primarily for the best player of all time, Michael Jordan. Their team wasn’t just limited to the GOAT though. All-stars Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, and sharpshooter Steve Kerr all helped on this team. However, the 1996 Bulls couldn’t even compete with the Golden State Warriors of 2017.

On July 4, 2016, Kevin Durant changed the basketball world forever when he decided to sign with the Golden State Warriors. The 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player joined a team that went 73-9 the season before, setting the record for the most regular season wins of any team ever. They were led by 2 time reigning MVP, Stephen Curry, who most people consider the greatest shooter of all time. Curry was joined by fellow sharpshooter and All-NBA member Klay Thompson, future Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green, and former Finals MVP Andre Iguodala. Durant spent three years with the Warriors. They won the NBA Championship the first two years with ease, while losing in the Finals the third year as Thompson and Durant had just suffered season ending injuries. In Durant’s three years with the Warriors, Curry, Durant, Thompson, and Green were all all stars, and they set the league on fire. The Warriors were (and still are) coached by former Bull’s sharpshooter Steve Kerr. The lineup of Curry, Thompson, Durant, Green, and Iguodala earned the nickname the “Hamptons Five” or the “Death Lineup”.

The 1996 Bulls were an incredible team. Any team that featured Michael Jordan would be. However, they did not have anywhere near the star power that the 2017 Warriors did. Going against a team with two MVPs, four All-Stars, a Defensive Player of the Year, and a Finals MVP on top of that. During the Warrior’s 3 year reign, they were the best offensive and defensive team in the game. If everyone was healthy and playing their hardest, they were near impossible to beat. They went 16-1 in the 2017 playoffs, and they swept the NBA Finals the next year. The Bulls could not keep up with the Warriors, as they could score on them in so many ways. The debate is still going, and people will always argue over it. All things considered though, no team has come close to being as good as the 2017-2019 Golden State Warriors.
