Boy’s Soccer Season Begins

The boy’s soccer team at Hillcrest has had its tryouts and is starting their season soon. The players are very enthusiastic about the impending season.

“I’m excited to see us play some of our rivals that we lost to last season or just rivals in general,” said Andrew Tuttle, a sophomore on the team.

A major appeal of the sport is the robust team environment.

“I like how everyone gets along and how there is a lot of camaraderie between all the players on all the teams…. that everyone supports everyone and that if someone needs something, there is always someone on the team who will help them,” Tuttle said.

“I love soccer because of the culture and the community and team bonding that you experience with other people who you otherwise wouldn’t know,” added freshman Josh Martin.

In addition, the players value how a wide range of people can make the team.

“I love the team because there is so much diversity that shows that anyone can play soccer and love the game,” Martin mentioned.

“Anyone could get a chance to get on the team,” added Tuttle.

The team seems to be excited to get the chance to compete and bond with their teammates.
