Many underclassmen often find themselves in a rut and wonder how their previous senior friends are doing after graduation. Are they in college? Are they on a mission? What happened to the alumni of Hillcrest?

Marli Black was part of the graduating class of 2016 of Hillcrest High School. Keeping her mind open to opportunities, Marli has expanded her horizons a lot since graduation. This includes having headed off to college at Utah Valley University in the fall. However, as soon as the semester ends, she is off to answer another call.

Marli will be leaving in January to serve as a missionary in Colorado. However, before she leaves she has started a photography business on Instagram called “Viewsfrommars.”

Marli has had a growing love for photography for some time now. “I realized people actually liked my work I decided I should do something, so thus my Instagram and business were formed.”

Having been the photo editor of Husky Pawprint newspaper, Marli has had both experience in taking pictures for events and takes portraits of her friends for anything from going away to college or just plain the seasons have changed portraits. When it comes to calling her to be a photographer she’s happy to try anything new.

Marli has a growing passion for all things photography and states, “photography has the ability to capture a moment in this crazy, chaotic world.”
