President Donald Trump chose Neil Gorsuch for his nomination to take the Supreme Court chair of the late Justice Antonin Scalia. Gorsuch came up on the radar quite fast. He is only 49 years old which is quite young for an Associate Justice, especially because they stay on the court for the rest of your life.

“It is interesting that Trump would choose someone who is only 49 years-old since judges serve for life, but I am excited to see how he can change our government for the better.” Laramie Sferas, Senior

Gorsuch’s quick rise comes down to two main reasons:  first being that he has had a strong republican track record, and the strong impression he has had on Trump.

His track record says a lot, and it means a lot to many republicans. Gorsuch stands against the Contraceptive Mandate, which requires all insurers to cover some birth control costs, insisting that is is against the Christian Religion According to CNN.com

He also is not in support of administrative agencies interpreting the law for the court. Which might seem boring but is a high standing issue on many republican agendas.

This Strong allegiance to the Republican party gave a good impression on Trump and Got Neil the nomination.

Gorsuch is also a strong candidate because he is quite accomplished. He one of the few candidates on Trump’s list of potential nominations that went to an Ivy League school.

His studying didn’t just stop at Columbia and Harvard Law School but he also studied in Oxford under John Finnis, who now specialized in legal theory at the University of Notre Dame.

With such an impressive resume Neil Gorsuch is a wise choice for Trumps nomination, and his track record convinced Trump to nominate him to create a strong Republican government.
