Friday, October 13 at seven o’clock Hillcrest Huskies will be playing against Hunter Wolverines. The crowd was dressed in all pink for Breast Cancer Awareness. The Huskies have four seniors that will not be able to play Friday night, because of injuries.

The biggest injury is their starting quarterback Tyson Flores, who suffered from a severe concussion. Due to all the injuries the Huskies currently have to put in their fourth string QB, Ezra Moleni. In the first quarter the Huskies held the Wolverines to a score of only 7.

“ In the first quarter we were doing very well. We caused some turnovers that we just couldn’t capitalize on,” said senior captain Mckay Ashby. Hunter threw a 13 yard pass for the only touchdown of the first quarter.

In the second the Wolverines jumped on the Huskies and scored two touchdowns. Late in the second the Huskies got their first touchdown of the game by a 29 yard run from Mckay Ashby.

In the beginning of the third quarter the Huskies kicked the ball to the Wolverines. The Wolverines were going to stop with their 14 point lead. They quickly added another 7 points to their score. The Huskies couldn’t get anything going, so they had to punt the ball away. At the end of the third quarter the Wolverines were up 35-7.

In the fourth quarter the wolverines quickly jumped on top and really finished the game out scoring 3 touchdowns. One of which was from a 39 yard punt return.

“I played my heart out during this game and tried my best. It’s really hard playing against a great team like Hunter when half of your starters are out from injuries. Next week we play Murray High School and I feel like we could get this one especially because it’s going to be senior night.” said Ashby.

The final score for the game is 56-7. The Huskies record goes down to 1-8. Next week on Wednesday, October 18 the Huskies will be playing against the Murray Spartans for their last game of the year.
