Sai Neeraj Paladugu a tennis player superstar. Sai Paladugu was born October 30, 2000 in  Andhra Pradesh, India. He was first interested in track but the fees were way ahead of his budget for a sport, he wanted to do a sport over the spring. Before heading to the United States he was in love with cricket, he was not on a team playing was more of a friend vs. friend. They also had tournaments to see who is the best cricket player.

He took an interest and decided to try out for tennis which is way different than cricket  and made the team as junior varsity his freshman year of high school. He has been playing as junior varsity all three years but has played a few varsity games during his sophomore, and junior year.“Go,fight,win,” says the tennis team.

Players at the end of the season receive awards, there are three different awards in total: “M.V.P.”, “Hustle Award”, and “Most Improved Award”. Sai received one of the three awards given to players at the end of the season the “Hustle Award” you are given  the award for being the most engaged player in the team. “ [The] coach is a great example for all the students on the team even though he can’t play with us, he is still very involved in everything you do,” Sai mentioned.

“ I was horrible my freshman year but the conditioning really helped me with my tennis skills,” Sai loves tennis he thinks of it as a way to relieve stress, by hitting the tennis balls across the court.

His goals this year is to make it on the varsity team, and to hopefully become the tennis captain, the position of the team captain is given to the athlete that the rest of the team respect and trust them to the the leader.
