Bassel Tekarli is 18 years of age and a senior at Hillcrest High School. Tekarli has been a varsity star player for the Hillcrest Huskies since freshman year, where he plays the point guard position.

The Huskies practice every single day, “I love my team, and I love being around a great group of guys,” he says.

“After high school I plan to go to the University of Utah.” Despite not having have any scholarship offers, he is a excellent player and adds great character to the team.

When attending the U, Tekarli wants to major in economics, while completing the prerequisites for medical school. “I want to be a doctor or a surgeon,” Tekarli says.

Bassel’s favorite  sport is basketball, “I appreciate it even more after playing football,” he says. The Toronto Raptors is his favorite team.

“I play basketball because I love the game, and lots of times it’s a good way for me to get away from things.”
