The huskies hosted a home basketball game against Hunter High School. On Tuesday, February 6, was their last game against the Wolverines. The Huskies played two times before this, both times the Huskies took home the win. The Wolverines beat the Huskies in the last game in a 3 game match up.

The game was a must win for the Wolverines. If the Hunter were to lose they would have been completely out of the state competition. The Wolverines are now 1-8 in region, while the huskies are 3-6.

The first game against the Wolverines was a wild one. The game ended in a double overtime game winning shot by Brox Ashby. The second game against the Wolverines was a very exciting game as well. Mohammed Saif finished with 12 rebounds and 15 points leading the Huskies to a 12 point victory.

The third game which was on February 6, was a mixture of the first and second game. The Huskies and Wolverines were going right at each other having 5 lead changes within the first quarter. The second quarter was similar to the first quarter, with 3 lead changes. Hunter had the lead by 4 going into the second half.

The third quarter began and the Wolverines started it off right. They made 4 shots in row. At the end of the third the huskies were now down 7.

The fourth quarter was the most intense quarter of the game. The Huskies were coming back make shot, after shot, and causing turnovers. The Wolverines weren’t done yet either their center was getting layup after layup. The game ended 62-54.

“ Watching the game took a piece of my heart with it. It was brutal. Going into it knowing we are the better team, it was a rough, all our hard work didn’t pay off” said by junior Tyan Brinar.

The huskies have 3 more games till the state competition. Next Tuesday, February 13 they play the number one team in the region, Kearns High school.

“ We aren’t done yet. It taught us a lesson to never take a play off, and taught us that we need to play hard all the time, especially for the seniors as it’s last couple of region games.” said Brinar.
