Mug cakes

I am guilty of being a horrible cook so when I’m in the mood for a cake and don’t want to go through the hassle, mug cakes become my best friend.

Here’s my personal refined recipe to delicious in a cup.

(ingredients are not exact)



1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 yolk

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

baking powder

(optional frosting)


Start with butter in a coffee mug, melt this is the microwave. Add all remaining cake ingredients.


Microwave for two minutes or until cake looks dry. (Do not overcook.) Cool slightly. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.


For a chocolate recipe, substitute ingredients with nutella or coco powder.
