The Hillcrest high school 2018-2019 cheerleaders are here! Tryouts were held in the large gym last week, Monday the 16th of April all the way to the Wednesday 18th. This were three days of intense sweat, and tears, to become the dream of many girls and boys.

Twenty-two cheerleaders were chosen to form the next year’s JV and Varsity, the next year cheerleader Birkley Stromberg said ” I am really surprised and happy that I have made the team, I am really excited to cheer at the games next year, and to have a team that will be like my family.”

Many of the cheerleaders recommend that anyone that has a positive attitude, lots of energy and is a good leader, should definitely try out for next year.

But, many other skills are needed too, like the ability to lift others in the air for stunting, have a good tumbling, good endurance, and strong arms for arm angles, so be physically fit.

Many senior cheerleaders are willing to see what they can do this cheerleaders next year working as a team and coming together. This year senior Jessica Ulrich, cheer captain this year, said that “next year’s cheer team will be a young team, but that they will bring a lot of school spirit to the student section”.

If you are trying to be more involved in the school, you will need to have all the qualities above, and would enjoy to be part of a sports team, tryout for cheer, next year, they would love to have you.
