Summer jobs aren’t fun, but these ones could be. You could be a lifeguard, nanny, dog walker, and house cleaner. These are some tips on what you would need to do to get each one of these jobs. The best place to look for a lifeguard job is recreation centers, or water parks/amusement parks. A lot of the time these places are always hiring for summers. “ I love the way little kids look up to me, I feel like I purpose” Claryssa Rendfeldt said.

Here’s some things you would need to do to become a lifeguard this summer,

  • Tread water for at least two minutes
  • Swim 100 yards
  • Be able to perform a feet first dive.
  • Perform a series of tasks given to you by an instructor

Lifeguard training classes are offered throughout the year at different YMCAs.

Nannying can be a hard job especially if you aren’t a big fan of kids, but it’s also a easy way to earn cash. Sometimes you can work a 8-12 hour day and sometimes you can work 3-7 hour day. It depends on the family you’re working for. If you are looking for a nanny job the best way to look for one is online advertisement, or contacting family, or family friends. “The hardest part of being a nanny would be punishing the kids. I never knew if I was being too harsh or not harsh enough.”  Ashlon Wright said.

Here’s a list of things you would need to do to become a nanny.

  • You would need a child care license
  • Some jobs require you have at least 1-2 years of experience

  • Trustworthy

The next possible summer job could be a dog walker. To be a dog walker you have to be able to handle large or small amounts of dogs. Dog walkers normally charge about 15-30 dollars depending on how many dogs and how long they need to be walked. This job can be fun and exciting especially if you love animals, but also can be very stressful. You have to be able to handle the stress.

  • Be able to control animals of different sizes and strengths.
  • Willing to pick up, clean up after the animal.
  • Know how to use a animals transportation cage (different size changes depending on the animal)
  • Know about animal nutrition
  • Be self motivated.

Being a housekeeper can be hard work, you have to be a good at cleaning and have to be pretty much OCD. Many people higher housekeepers because they are way too lazy to clean their own house so they have to hire someone else to clean. These are tips to help you become a housekeeper.

  • Must have physical stamina
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Must be organized
  • Most jobs like to hire people who have housekeeping experience

If these aren’t any of the jobs you are looking for some places that are hiring are Taco Bell, Carl’s Jr, Walmart, and Golden Corral. These aren’t the best of options but it’s better than nothing.
