Emmie Manwaring: Snow White

When you think of most people’s celebrity crush it’s probably someone like Taylor Swift or Ryan Gosling. Not many people would choose or have even heard of Donny Osmond, but that’s what makes this girl special.

For those of you not acquainted with Donny, he was a teenage heart throb in the 1970s and later he and his sister had a talk show. He was even born in Utah! He may be sixty years old but Emmie Manwaring doesn’t care. “I don’t care if he’s a grandpa. I love him, deal with it. Embrace the weirdness!”

Oldies seem to be a theme with Manwaring, some of her favorite music is by Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby, and a couple of her favorite shows are “Little House on the Prairie” and “The Brady Bunch.” She says “My dad and I watch it [Little House on the Prairie] every Sunday and eat mac and cheese.”

She’s been watching them ever since she was little and she continues to watch them to this day. “I love it because even though they are so old they are still good shows and they are fun to watch.”

She also likes the show because there’s not a lot of jokes or sarcasm and it is clean. She just doesn’t get jokes at all, they go right over her head. She is glad to have found a show she can watch and understand. The one joke she does get is her nickname: Snow White.

“It comes from my dark hair and pale skin” she says. Of course she doesn’t live completely in the past. She recently discovered her new favorite show, “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir”. “My friend showed it to me and I thought it was a kids show, but then our french teacher showed us an episode in class and I fell in love.”

Manwaring is a sophomore this year and when she isn’t doing homework she loves hanging out with her friends, and playing with her puppy, Missy. She also has a cat but, “she’s boring.”
