The Salt Lake Community College Twilight Concert Series is a music event that happens every summer. It’s produced by the Salt Lake City Arts Council. “It’s one of the longest-running and most revered public arts programs in Salt Lake City.” (twilightconcerts.com) The event is fun, affordable and unique.
This years line up had many acts differing in types of music. From the indie-rock to hip-hop this concert series offers an experience to all music lovers. There was a total of 4 concerts, Diplo, Moon Taxi, DJ Snoopadelic (Snoop Dogg), Flora Cash and King Princess.
“My favorite concert by far had to be King Princess. The energy was accepting and fun.” says Ella Copinga.
The concerts itself were funded by many sponsors including Broadway Media, SLCC, Lyft and more. The concerts took place at the Gallivan Center. This was a “chill venue” as Jordan Huffman described it. The concerts took place on August 16th, 23rd, 30th, September 6th, And 13th. It was the perfect ending to a summer in Salt Lake city.
The series kicked off with Diplo. Diplo is an American DJ. The next concert was Moon Taxi, a band from Nashville there music is indie pop. The next was possibly the most popular artist Snoop Dogg. Last, King Princess and Flora cash who ended it with a bang.
“I spent $40 and went to 4 amazing concerts. For the quality and experience I would have paid more.” says Copinga.
The tickets were sold as a package at the beginning of the concert and as the series went along, tickets were sold individually for 10 dollars per concert.
The series happens every summer meaning if you missed it this year you can always go next summer so mark your calendars and keep listening to music.
