Social media was swarming with posts about the recently elected Brett Kavanaugh as the Supreme Court Justice, making it seem like the only one that was happy about it, was Trump.

Christine Blasey Ford recently came out with rape allegations against Kavanaugh. She stated that in 1980, while they were in high school, Kavanaugh would gang rape woman at parties, Ford being one of them. Nothing was done then, and nothing is being done now.

On Otober 6th, a group of angry men and woman surrounded The Washington State Capitol screaming and chanting, bringing shame to Trump for electing Kavanaugh. Eventually he had to be flown out of the building and the mob was pushed back by police.

Ford and her lawyer reached out to the judiciary committee on September 24,  and received no response. After continuing to get no response, people began to get even more angry. The election process continued even after this information about Ford came out, President Trump addressed it as just another obstacle during the process and Kavanaugh will soon be elected anyways.

As Kavanaugh begins becoming more and more prominent and more talked about throughout our country, The young people begin to look up to him, and all of the other white men in office. Including our President. Yet, sexual assault, and disrespecting women is still taken lightly. It is upsetting, especially to women who have personally gone through something as awful as rape, just like Ford.

Most people, or hopefully more, can agree that if you have ever done anything illegal, especially if it involves harming any human being you should not be elected for any position that involves making important decisions for our country, sadly America did it again.

A message to Christine Blasey Ford,

you are respected because of your bravery. Women and girls are looking up to you everywhere. Thank you.
