Do you wanna pop some tags? Only got $20  in your pocket? Come to Hillcrest High School’s Thrift Shop Hop on December 8th at 7:00 p.m.! Make sure to bring your friends, because this party doesn’t just end with Hillcrest kids. Students from Jordan high and Brighton high are also invited, to make the party even more fun!

All the proceeds from the dance, will go towards Hillcrests charity fundraiser for the month of December for those who are affected by Cystic Fibrosis.

“I think the thrift shop hop is an amazing opportunity to get the community together to raise money for a great cause,” Says Hillcrest SBO Aisha Khan, “Inviting other schools really brings everyone together and lets other people get involved in a really fun way!”

Hillcrest hosts a spontaneous dance every year in December to raise money for the yearly charity. Along with the dance, they hold an all day assembly to fundraise money for the charity, and other events in between. This year, the amount of money Hillcrest wants to raise is $10,000.

The great thing about this dance, is that you don’t have to go farther than your very own closet! Put together the quirkiest and most eclectic outfit you can and blow everyone away with your mad ‘thrifting from your own closet’ skills.

“*sing these lyrics in the Thrift Shop by Macklemore tune* I’m going to a dance, only got $5 in my pocket, I’m going to Hillcrest, looking for a turn up, this is freaking awesome.” Says Brighton Senior Bailey Brandt.

Students from Jordan and Brighton are invited to the dance, to include everyone not only at a dance, but for the opportunity to give back to their community and support those in need.

“I’m so excited to be able to dress up as weird as I want, and for a good cause! It’s a win-win.” Says Nic B. from Jordan High.

The spontaneous Thrift Shop Hip Hop dance will be a night to remember, so wear your funkiest fashion pieces and be ready to party hard for charity!
